Creativity and Civic Solutions Commissions

The concept behind a Creativity and Civic Solutions Commission is that it provides a permanent entity in the Charter of a municipality that is, although only advisory, citizen-controlled and dedicated to using the tools and techniques of creativity to attack Civic Challenges.

It allows a citizen analysis of governmental operation and provides for a public reporting process. (press here for text of the Local Law)  Further, it builds Social Capital within the community because it brings together, for the common good, a very diverse membership, to serve the needs of all citizens.

The influence the Commission has upon municipal governments will be dependent upon the quality of its proposals and the amount of public support it receives.
